Many of you know as well as we do that receiving a diagnosis of Duchenne is both crushing and overwhelming. We received the diagnosis for both of our sons a little over two years ago and it feels like life has been speeding along at 500 miles per hour ever since. There’s never a time to be diagnosed with Duchenne. But early on, our doctor told us that if there’s ever a time, it’s now. Our experience with gene therapy has been a source of so much hope for our boys, now ages 6 and 3. Our eldest son, Mason, is currently participating in a gene therapy clinical trial.
