We’ve just returned from the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, which is where the Run For Our Sons program started, and wow what a weekend it was!
From Sean Crosby’s inspirational talk at our Team Celebration Dinner, where he encouraged our runners to “keep pounding” no matter what obstacles they faced, to our first wheelchair full marathoner Michael James Gaglianone crossing the finish line, it was an emotional and fun-filled weekend that our team members will never forget.
Freezing temperatures and early morning race starts couldn’t keep the smiles off of our 180 team members faces as they conquered the 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, Full Marathon, Goofy Challenge, and Dopey Challenge races, raising $430,000 in the process! Check out some of the photos from the weekend on our Facebook page.
Registration for our 2019 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend (Jan. 10-13) team will open in February, so stay tuned for that announcement and join the race to end Duchenne!
