PPMD has submitted written comments on a discussion draft for potential legislation called the Home and Community Based-Services Access Act (HAA).

This legislation aims to address the current inefficient patchwork of home and community-based services (HCBS) that exists across the country through Medicaid HCBS waivers. The current system is an artifact of a law that is over 55 years old and never envisioned community-based supports for older adults and people with disabilities.

PPMD remains hopeful that fixes can be made to the system to better serve our community and the many communities who need the support of these waivers. We will keep you updated as this legislation progresses.
