Health & Well-Being

  • West Virginia Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
    Chip provides health insurance to eligible children under age 19 based on family size and income.  Service co-pays are based on family monthly income.

  • West Virginia Health Insurance Premium Payment (WVHIPP)
    The West Virginia Health Insurance Premium Payment (HIPP) program is a state-funded program for qualifying Medicaid recipients and their families who have access to health insurance that is either self-funded, available through a job, or COBRA.If a Medicaid applicant qualifies for HIPP, the State will pay the monthly cost of the premium for a health insurance policy that covers the policyholder and their Medicaid dependent(s).

  • Aged and Disabled Waiver (ADW)
    The Aged and Disabled Waiver (ADW) program is a long-term care option that provides in-home care and community help. It allows a person to remain at or return home instead of receiving nursing home care. Services in the program promote choice, self-reliance​, respect and community care.

  • Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Waiver (IDDW)
    The Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Waiver (IDDW) program is for children and adults with disabilities. The program provides services that help to teach, train, support, guide and assist members reach the highest level of independence possible in their lives.

    • Have a diagnosis of an intellectual disability and/or similar condition that is severe before age 22
    • Have difficulties in at least three of the following six areas:
      • Self-care;
      • Language and communication;​
      • Learning;
      • The ability to move around freely;
      • The ability to make good decisions about themselves; or
      • The ability to live alone.
