Funding Assistance 

  • Team Joseph
    • Duchenne Family Assistance Program assists families financially to help with equipment needs, home modifications, travel assistance, and accessible vehicles and modifications.
  • Variety Children’s Charity
    • Application for the Freedom Program Grant can assist with funding for medical equipment not covered by insurance such as wheelchairs, accessible vans, etc.
  • The Self-Sufficiency Grant
    • This grant from ModestNeeds.org seeks to offer support to individuals and families who need assistance but don’t qualify as being “low-income” households. Their goal is to help ensure that families living just above the poverty line don’t have to spend their last dollar on necessities like adaptable home repairs.
  • Walking Strong
    • Walking Strong has an assistance program that helps Duchenne families with their over-bearing medical needs that are most often not covered by insurance. They have provided families with life-changing items such as a handicap accessible van, Hoyer lifts, in-home ramps, alternative therapies, medical travel expenses, and online training courses for older Duchenne teens to help provide them with a career.
  • Special Kids Fund
    • Supporting special needs kids is the core of our organization. Our mission is to provide vehicles to families of these special children across the nation to give them a chance to have the normal experiences that every child has, growing up as a kid.
  • Find a Local PPMD Connect Group!
    • PPMD Connect Groups are a great way to connect with other families and local resources in your area. Your local Connect Group may also be helpful in finding previously owned vehicles.
