Assistance Programs Available to Duchenne Families During the COVID-19 Pandemic

There are currently two programs providing direct assistance to Duchenne families during the COVID-19 pandemic to help with costs for day-to-day expenses. Please be sure to check them out and let others in the community know about them.

Please also remember to visit PPMD’s COVID-19 resource section for additional information to help you and your family navigate this global crisis, including answers to your most pressing questions to fun family activities to help you get through long days (and nights) at home.

Duchenne Family Assistance Program – Corona Relief Fund

Whether you’re struggling with job loss, worried about getting groceries while maintaining social distancing, figuring out how to keep your kids busy, or all of the above, these are extraordinary times that we are all doing our best to navigate. That’s why the Duchenne Family Assistance Program launched the Coronavirus Relief Fund for Duchenne families.  Mini-grants (between $250 or $500) are available for groceries (including delivery fees!), utilities, or any other emergency needs you’re struggling with. Let the Duchenne Family Assistance Program know how you plan to use the funds and if there are other ways you need help.

$100 mini-grants (per child) are available for fun or educational materials for your child(ren) with Duchenne and their siblings.  All you have to do is select the number of kids in your Duchenne household, and then start planning some fun…puzzles, games, a new hobby, music, or whatever works for your child(ren)!
