We are so excited to announce that Whataburger’s first-event customer promotion to benefit PPMD raised $89,807! Whataburger partnered with Coach To Cure MD to run this promotion in the Dallas/Fort Worth area locations.
“We are so grateful to Whataburger and their customers in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for supporting Coach To Cure MD and Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy,” said Pat Furlong, Founding President & CEO. “Care is at the heart of everything PPMD does, and these funds will help to bring the best care possible to Texas families, as we continue to expand our network of Certified Duchenne Care Centers. Thank you for partnering with Coach To Cure MD and helping us tackle Duchenne!”
“Whataburger is just amazed by the level of support from our customers. Together, we’re bringing Coach To Cure MD and Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy one step closer to their mission of effectively caring for those with Duchenne muscular dystrophy,” said Whataburger Divisional Vice President, Restaurant Operations, Mark Brown. “The future Duchenne Care Center will be transformational for the community, and we’re truly honored to be a part of this effort.”
Whataburger presented a check to PPMD representatives during halftime at Southern Methodist University’s football game against Temple on October 19. The game was nationally televised on ESPN2. The Rousselin family – including, Daniel (age 8) and Miguel (age 4) – who live in McKinney, TX and were diagnosed with Duchenne in early 2017, accepted the check on behalf of PPMD.
Thank you to everyone who supported Coach To Cure MD this season, especially our national partner Werner Ladder. We are ecstatic about the amount of press, photos, and stories shared throughout the country. From tailgates to texting to fundraising pages to sponsorships, together we have raised over $175,000 this year!
