Have you been looking for a way to engage with the community more? Do you have a personal experience that you would like to share with the larger community or through federal and state advocacy efforts? Are you interested in serving as a mentor to others with Duchenne and/or Becker?
PPMD is seeking adult (ages 18 and older) members of our Duchenne and Becker community to serve on the PPMD Adult Advisory Committee (PAAC). Please consider lending your time, talent, and vision to paving our pathway forward.
Application deadline: Tuesday, December 10th
About the PPMD Adult Advisory Committee (PAAC)
The PAAC is on a mission to elevate the lives of individuals living with Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy through advocacy, education, mentorship, and awareness. We represent the teen and adult voice of people living with Duchenne and Becker as an extension of PPMD.
PAAC Member Requirements
To be eligible to serve on the PAAC, members must be age 18 or older at the time of application and diagnosed with Duchenne or Becker muscular dystrophy. All PAAC members are asked to participate in Zoom meetings every two weeks. In-person meetings are occasionally held in conjunction with PPMD’s Advocacy Conference in Washington, DC and PPMD’s Annual Conference each June. Meeting attendance by PAAC members is strongly encouraged either in-person or virtually, but not required for membership.
The time commitment for PAAC members is roughly 5 hours/month. Attendance of at least 12 virtual meetings per year is required.
