The Rev It Up 5K presented by Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America held their 4th annual event on September 21, 2024, bringing in $27,000 for PPMD! Thank you to Jason Dempsey for organizing this event and making it incredibly fun and memorable for so many. It would not have been the success that it was without his hard work, drive and commitment! Thank you to our generous sponsors, as well – Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America, Mitsubishi Electric Foundation, Kroger and G&J Pepsi.
There were a total of 185 participants at the Rev It Up 5K who rallied behind Jason in the fight to end Duchenne. One standout participant in particular was Jason’s son, Jude. Jude is 9 years old and was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy when he was 6. Jude crossed the finish line proudly with friends and was also one of the event’s top fundraisers. Jude created his own fundraising page to help raise awareness and money for research to help others like him with Duchenne.
Out of the 185 participants, 109 of them were team members of the Jogging for James crew. This fundraising group, lead by Kevin Hoffman, raised a total of $9,625 for the event! Kevin returned as the event’s top fundraiser for the second year in a row, fundraising in honor of his son James who also has Duchenne.
At the end of the 5K, awards were given out to the top male and female participants in each age group and PPMD was presented with a check by the event’s warriors.
Thank you to everyone who showed up at Corwin Nixon Park in Mason, OH and everyone who donated to the event! We are incredibly grateful to have your support. The Duchenne community is a powerful one, and we will not stop until we’ve achieved our mission.
