PPMD is seeking adult members of our Duchenne and Becker community to serve on the PPMD Adult Advisory Committee (PAAC). Please consider lending your time, talent, and vision to paving our pathway forward. Application deadline: Monday, November 28.
About the PPMD Adult Advisory Committee (PAAC)
The PPMD Adult Advisory Committee (PAAC) is on a mission to elevate the lives of individuals living with Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy through advocacy, education, mentorship, and awareness. We represent the teen and adult voice of people living with Duchenne and Becker as an extension of Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD).
PAAC Member Requirements
To be eligible to serve on the PAAC, members must be age 18 or older at the time of application and diagnosed with Duchenne or Becker muscular dystrophy or have a diagnosis of being a Duchenne/Becker carrier. All PAAC members are asked to participate in monthly working Zoom meetings. In-person meetings are occasionally held in conjunction with PPMD’s Annual Advocacy Conference in Washington, DC and PPMD’s Annual Conference each June. Meeting attendance by PAAC members is strongly encouraged but not required for membership.
The time commitment for PAAC members is roughly 5 hours/month.
2023 Applications are now closed.
