Little Hercules Foundation and Team Joseph formed the Duchenne Family Assistance Program (DFAP) in 2017, to provide an expanded set of resources for families in need. Little Hercules’ work includes guiding Duchenne families through the complex insurance and appeals processes of both public and private health insurers, and also includes guidance on financial resources (SSI, Medicaid waivers, etc.). Team Joseph leads the program arm that supports families directly with financial assistance and resources to purchase equipment, accessible ramps, transportation to clinic visits, vehicle modifications, and home modifications. Assistance is also available for educational opportunities, such as conferences.
