70 Members of Congress Send Letter of Strong Support for Duchenne Priorities for Next Year’s Budget

We are pleased to report our final numbers for the FY19 letters.

In total, 19 Senators signed onto the Senate FY19 letter, joining 51 members of the House. That makes a solid 70 members of Congress (House and Senate combined) sending a strong message of support behind Duchenne research, public health, drug development, and patient support initiatives. They provide strategic direction for the federal agencies that touch Duchenne. Given the tremendous level of uncertainty at the federal level today, such direction is more critical than ever before. Both letters have bi-partisan support, which is really important for these efforts.

Please send thank you notes if your Senator(s) signed on. It is critical to show your appreciation for their support.

If you do not see your member signed on, remember, a signature is not the only measure of success. Success was achieved after you contacted your Members’ offices because you opened the door for more dialogue. You now have a touch point for future “asks” as well. As you know, we often have several action alerts on a variety of issues throughout the year.

We know your time is precious, we are grateful to everyone who made the trip to DC and to those who advocated from home.

Please remember to contact your members if they signed either letter to thank them.

THANK YOU ALL! We are so proud of the work you did and continue to do!
